Clinard Dance brings together people from a diverse range of artistic disciplines and cultural backgrounds pioneering a unique approach to contemporary and American-style flamenco.
Their works push the limits of both a traditional flamenco quartet format and their original content driven works.
Clinard Dance and Japanese photographer Akito Tsuda team up to create an interdisciplinary work based on Akito's photos of Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood in the early 1990's. The static discipline of photography and moving disciplines of Flamenco music and dance work like a jigsaw puzzle shifting the foreground and background continuously; the art forms are different but the key is that something gets shared and there’s a richer sense of each other individually, artistically and culturally.. Join us April 8th at 3 and 4p at The National Museum Of Mexican Fine Arts for a "work in progress" performance alongside a photo exhibit of Akito's. FREE.
